Your designer should know how you work
Work with an assigned Lumera designer who knows your preferences. Build a dental lab partnership around the way you want to handle your cases.

Start with a person you know
Each dentist who works with Lumera is assigned a designer. Your cases go to someone who becomes familiar with your preferences, your instructions and the details you tend to review closely.
That matters when you send your next case. You already have a working relationship. You can refer to a previous conversation, explain what needs to change and build on what you've learned together.
We want Lumera to become a lab you know how to work with, and a team that knows how to work with you.
Your preferences travel with the work
We keep a record of your clinical preferences so your designer has that context when a case arrives. Contact and occlusal preferences, design instructions and other recurring details belong in that record.
The individual case still has its own requirements. If you want something different from your usual approach, include it with the order. Your designer can use both the standing preferences and the case instructions instead of having to piece the story together from memory.
As the relationship develops, let us know what is working and what you'd like adjusted. That feedback helps us understand your expectations on the next case.
Some dentists want more conversation than others
You may want to set your preferences and let us handle routine cases in the background. You may prefer to review designs and discuss the details as they develop. You may do both, depending on the case.
We can work that way. Tell us where you want to be involved, and we'll use the portal's messaging and review tools to keep the conversation connected to the case.
More context gives us more to work with. A reference, an explanation or a few minutes reviewing a design can help your designer understand something that a short prescription couldn't fully convey. Every case still gets personal attention, including the routine ones.
Where we choose to spend our time
Design work takes time. So does understanding an instruction, reviewing a detail and talking through a question with a dentist. Those are parts of the job we want to make room for.
We built Lumera's software around our own operation. It keeps files, case progress, instructions and billing organized so the team spends less time chasing information. That efficiency helps us offer competitive pricing while keeping people involved in the work.
Materials matter, but a lab relationship also depends on the judgment and attention behind the restoration. That's where we put a great deal of our effort.
Tell us your preferences when you start. Give us feedback as we work together. Over time, your designer gets a clearer picture of what you expect, and the partnership becomes more useful to both sides.
